A busy week

I'm still here. The lack of posts has had nothing to do with a lack of desire to write, but everything to do with my being deep in the process of writing my article for the Knutepunkt book. The first draft is done, and although it is clearly a first draft and needs some tweaking, it is shaping up ok.

The rest of the week has been spent working and trying to enjoy as much time with my little girl before she heads off into the unknown - a new school. She's there today for a pre-term induction with the rest of year 7, and then Monday everything kicks off in earnest. It's a fresh start for her, at a school where she knows no one, and I am both excited and nervous for her. Hoping that there aren't too many tears.

I am also on my second draft. I got really good, really useful feedback on the first one; like it was a joy to behold how I went through the comments and just accepted the changes because they were all objectively right and then I got to the comments, "it would be good if you also covered this other thing, one that you had not thought of" and my brain immediately shut down.

The other article, I fear, is in a cupboard marked "how are we going to reject this piece in the approved Norwegian style, where culturally it is very hard for us to be directly negative?"
